Elizabeth C. “Betty” Seifert, 86, Ireland

Elizabeth “Betty” C. Seifert, 86, of Ireland, died Monday, September 26, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Jasper January 22, 1936, to Sylvester and Pauline (Mundy) Vogler. She married William “Bill” Seifert September 4, 1958, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper. He died December 14, 1968.

Betty was a 1954 graduate of Jasper High School. She worked as a teachers aide at Ireland Elementary School, a teachers aide at Ireland Elementary, a waitress at a number of area restaurants, and as a driver for Uebelhor and Sons. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland and its St. Anne’s Society and enjoyed quilting, gardening, spending time with family and friends, and loved picking up pecans.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Seifert, Jasper, and Ann (Charles Kelly) Seifert, Pineville, North Carolina; four sons, Stan Seifort and wife Marsha, Randy Seifert and wife Jackie, and Allen Seifert and wife Deanne, all of Jasper, and Marty Seifert and wife Petra, Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren, Elliott, Shaun, Jordan, Drew, Denise, Patrick, and Cody Seifert, and Nicole and Lisa Kelly; one sister, Anna Mae Singer, Jasper; and one brother, Sylvester Jr. “Junie” Vogler and wife Connie, Lake Helmerich.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Claretta Wagner, and one brother, William “Bill” Vogler.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Mary cemetery fund or to a favorite charity.
