Virginia R. Johannemann, 90, Ferdinand

Virginia R. Johannemann, 90, of Ferdinand, died Monday, September 19, at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand. She was born in St. Henry January 10, 1932, to Clem and Clara (Brinkman) Lange. She married Albert J. Johannemann May 17, 1952, at St. Henry Church.  He died February 16, 2012.

Virginia retired from Best Home Furnishings in 1994 after 23 years of employment. She was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church and enjoyed traveling, growing flowers, and being with family and friends.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Lee Berg and husband Ron, St. Anthony, Sue Wendholt and husband Rick, Ferdinand, and Diane Nix and husband Barry, Cannelton; four sons, Dave Johannemann and wife Kathy, Paul Johannemann, and Matt VanKirk and wife Ginny, all of Ferdinand, and Mark Johannemann and wife Deidra, Birdseye; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann Treat and husband Jim, Ferdinand, and Fran Jerger and husband Ron, St. Henry; sisters-in-law Mary C. Lange and Martha Lange, both of Huntingburg; and brother-in-law Ralph Johannemann, Ferdinand.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, Vic, Ray, Arnold, and Clem Lange, and two sisters, Edna Tempel and Irene Lange, who died in infancy.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Friday at St. Ferdinand Church. Online condolences can be shared at A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with burial following in the church cemetery.
