Frances A. Heeke-Goodman, 87, Dubois
Frances A. Heeke-Goodman, 87, of Dubois, died Sunday, September 18, at the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. She was born in Jasper November 25, 1934, to Albert “Jumbo” and Apollonia (Schmitt) Giesler. She married Herman “Joe” Heeke September 27, 1956. He died July 24, 1978. She married Jack Goodman June 5, 1982.
Frances was a 1952 graduate of Jasper High School. She worked for Wabash Valley, IGA, and, most recently, in the 10th Street School cafeteria. She was a member of St. Isidore Parish and the St. Anne’s Sodality. She enjoyed spending time in prayer, crocheting, playing cards, and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Goodman, Celestine; four daughters, Ann Mehringer and husband Dean and Julie Rasche and husband Duane, all of Dubois, and Denise Heeke and Lisa Winchell, both of Jasper; one step-daughter, Mary Siebert and husband Mike, Celestine; nine grandchildren, Dean “Jr”,’ and Chevon Mehringer; Sedina Wyland, Jessica Fowler, Meredith Mewborn, and Nolan, Delaney, Olivia, and Landy Rasche; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and first husband she was preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Denu, Irene Lueken, and Rita Egler, and one brother, Urban Giesler.
Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at St. Raphael’s Church. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Isidore Parish or to a favorite charity.
