Alvenia H. Uebelhor, 82, Schnellville
Alvenia H. Uebelhor, 82, of Schnellville, died Friday, August 5, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. She was born October 29, 1939, to Ben and Margaret (Hoffman) Mathies. She married James Uebelhor September 7, 1959.
Alvenia was a 1957 graduate of Dubois High School. She was a homemaker, seamstress, and owner of Uebelhor Concete lawn ornaments. She devoted her life to taking care of her family and her special needs son of 52 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its St. Anne’s Society, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Schnellville Community Club, St. Anthony Community Center, and a past Home Ec member. She loved singing in the church choir, gardening, and spending time with family.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Uebelhor; three sons, Brian Uebelhor, Lexington, Kentucky, Kent Uebelhor and wife Janet, Ferdinand, and Gregg Uebelhor and wife Sandy, Taylor Mill, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Austin, Olivia, and Erika Uebelhor, and Breanna, Makayla, and Garrett Uebelhor; two sisters; Doris Hohler and Virginia Love; and one brother; Allen Mathies.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Paul Uebelhor, one sister, Yvonne Mathies, and three brothers, Arthur, Leroy, and Gerald Mathies.
Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
