Lovella K. Neukam, 97, Huntingburg
Lovella K. Neukam, 97, of Huntingburg, died Sunday, May 8, at the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. She was born in Ireland July 14, 1924, to William and Clara (Weisman) Meyer. She married Alden Neukam May 6, 1948, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township. He died June 24, 2001.
Lovella helped on the family farm, was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Boone Township and the Friendly Neighbors Home-Ec Club, and enjoyed quilting, jigsaw puzzles, word searches, gandering in the stores around town, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, Sam Neukam and wife Sandy, Huntingburg; seven grandchildren, Brian, Teresa, April, and Brad Neukam, Tonya Austeri and husband Tom, Tabitha Rahn and husband Matt, and Ashten Kemme and wife Kellen; four great-grandchildren and Baby K on the way; daughter-in-law Ellen Trice, Georgia; one sister, Henrietta Neukam, Dale; and one brother, Wilfred Meyer, Otwell.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Neukam, and two brothers, Melvin and Frederick Meyer.
Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Friday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church.
