Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Bartley Roos, 85, Ferdinand

Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Bartley Roos, 85, of Ferdinand, died Saturday, January 8, at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand. She was born in Ferdinand March 1, 1936, to Walter and Lucille (Weyer) Bartley. She married Edward P. Roos II November 27, 1954, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand.

Betty was a homemaker and worked as a clerk at Farbest Foods. She was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church and its St. Anne’s Sodality, the Ferdinand Daughters of Isabella, where she was past regent for two terms, Ferdinand Senior Citizens, Ferdinand Legion Auxiliary, Sisters of St. Benedict, the Saint Hildegard Society, and Camping Hoosiers.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Roos II; one daughter, Glenda Marlin and husband Robert “Bots” Marlin, Newburgh; three sons, Edward P. Roos III, Holland, and Michael Roos and Chris Roos and wife Tina, all of Ferdinand; one sister, Pearline Brahm and husbaand Cleon, Ferdinand; six grandchildren, Frank and Lauren Roos, Brock Flamion and wife Lisa, Jayme (Tirey) Burch, Shayna Roos and fiancé Kevin Ulery, and Katelyn Roos and fiancé Nathan Pike; two step-grandchildren, Rob Marlin and wife Alicia and Julia Behr and husband Dustin; and one great-grandson, Calum Burch.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Debbie Roos, who died in infancy.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at St. Ferdinand Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Edward P. and Betty Roos Family Endowment for the benefit of the Sisters of St. Benedict.
