Ella Faye Luebbehusen, 71, Jasper
Ella Faye (Sifrig-Hudson) Luebbehusen, 71, of Jasper, died Thursday, November 25, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Perry County March 12, 1950. She married Richard C. Luebbehusen November 27, 1968. in Huntingburg.
Faye worked for the Huntingburg Police Department and served the Huntingburg community for nearly 20 years. She volunteered for Southridge High School, was an advocate for marginalized children, and worked with law enforcement agencies and domestic violence centers to transfer and promote the safety of women and children. She also volunteered at sporting events and civic activities in the Huntingburg area.
She is survived by one son, Blake Luebbehusen and wife Amy, Goshen; one daughter, Gretchin Shelton and husband Jeff, Jasper; three grandchildren, Evan Luebbehusen and wife Carrie and Jacob Luebbehusen, all of Goshen, and Sierra Shelton, Jasper; two sisters, Darlene Hudson-Huff and husband Vaughn, Tell City, and Ruth Ella Weatherholt, Cannelton; two brothers, DL Weatherholt and wife Shirley and Charlie Weatherholt and wife Margie, all of Derby; twin siblings she helped raise, Charlene Mattingly and husband Mike, Cherokee, Arkansas, and Darlene Gottwald, Chesterfield, Michigan; she was also “Nana” to Blake (Amanda Radpour-Beering) Seigneurie, Zachary Seigneurie, Cody Seigneurie and Shelby Seigneurie.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rich Luebbehusen; her mother, Ella Mae Weatherhold; Lloyd and Elouise Hudson, who helped raise her; and one brother, Alvin Jr., who died in infancy.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 11, in St. Henry Catholic Cemetery.
