Watco is seeking a Customer Sales Rep that will be responsible for the overall “day to day” freight management of shipments and or assigned shipping accounts.  You will build relationships with customers and partner with other Customer Sales Reps and Carrier Capacity teams to ensure customer needs are met.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify (cold call), onboard and build relationships with new and current customers.
  • Development of a customer base.
  • Research new customers in the marketplace, generate leads for potential freight needs.
  • Freight solicitation and sales, including cold calling from company or self-generated call list
  • Respond to customers with a sense of urgency to provide excellent customer experience.
  • Build and develop relationships with customers to ensure continued partnerships.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide to quality and timely updates to your customers.
  • Network internally with Account Management and Carrier coordinator teams.
  • Customer rate quoting and negotiations.
  • Other duties as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • College degree (preferred)
  • 1 year transportation, customer service or freight brokerage experience (preferred)
  • Demonstrable problem resolution skills
  • 1 year of inside sales (preferred)
  • Strong organization, and time management skills and ability to negotiate.
  • Possess basic PC skills- Microsoft Excel, Word
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
