Rita M. Kearby, 77, Jasper
Rita M. Kearby, 77, of Jasper, died Saturday, June 26, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. She was born in Huntingburg May 18, 1944, to Harry and Clara (Sendelweck) Fuhrman. She married Norman E. Kearby November 15, 1969. He died November 14, 1975.
Rita was a graduate of Northeast Dubois High School. She retired from ARC Industries in Evansville, where she worked for several years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville and enjoyed playing Bingo and Turnover, doing puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Julia Stenftenagel and husband Jason, and Lisa James and husband Donald, all of Jasper; son-in-law David Schepers, Celestine; three grandchildren, Camasia Brames and husband Ryan, Angela Moore, and Donald Schepers; one step-grandson, Cole Stenftenagel; one sister, Mary Lou Potts and husband Richard, Cannelburg; and brother-in-law Randall Roach and wife Linda, French Lick.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Robin Kearby and Bruce Kelley, two daughters, Sherri Schepers and Renee Kearby, who died in infancey, and two sisters, Janet Roach and Barbara Miller.
Friend may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Church.
