Marilyn Gutgsell-Vinson, 77, Loveland, Colorado

Marilyn Gutgsell-Vinson, 77, of Loveland, Colorado, died Wednesday, May 12, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. She was born in Jasper September 25, 1943, to Alois and Mary Ann (Jerger) Haas. She married Joe Vinson in 2003.

Marilyn was a 1961 graduate of Jasper High School. She moved to Loveland, Colorado in 1980. She enjoyed working with schoolteachers by helping them with their savings and retirement needs. She loved the mountains and the great outdoors and traveling in she and her husband’s motor home and spending time in and around the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. Since 2006 she and her husband have spent their winter months at Paamul, Mexico, a small beachside community south of Playa del Carmen. Their summer months were spent traveling and visiting friends and family in the U.S.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Vinson, Paamul, Mexico; one daughter, Annette Larson and husband Mark, Loveland; two sons, Michael Gutgsell and wife Janet, Highlands Ranch Colorado, and Joseph Gutgsell, Centennial Colorado; two stepsons, Doug Vinson and wife Angela, Lebanon, Oregon, and Scott Vinson, Encinitas, California; 14 grandchildren, Mitchell, Anna, Sage, Katherine, Cora, Victoria, Fred, Walter, Sam, Albert, Charles, Henry, Madeline, and George; three brothers,  Larry Haas and wife Pat, Charles “Will ” Haas and wife Carol, and Tony (Sharon Sermersheim) Haas, all of Jasper; two sisters, Anne Waddell and husband Bob and Sylvia and husband Phil, all of Jasper; her uncle Joe Jerger; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a nephew, Phillip Haas, and Doug Abell.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Friday at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper. Memorial contributions can be made to Precious Blood Church, Habitat for Humanity, or the American Cancer Association. Online condolences can be shared at A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. There will be no graveside service.
