Rhonda J. Garland, 74, Jasper

Rhonda J. Garland, 74, of Jasper, died Wednesday, April 28, at her home. She was born in Huntingburg April 9, 1947, to Vernis “Copper” and Lucille (Cummins) Garland.

Rhonda was a 1965 graduate of Jasper High School. She retired from Old National Bank after 50 years of employment and after retirement worked part-time at K-Mart and volunteered at the Dubois County Food Bank. She was an active member of the Dubois County Democratic Party and enjoyed traveling, gambling, playing cards, and visiting with her framily and friends.

She is survived by her mother, Lucille Garland, Jasper; two brothers, Ron Garland and wife Betty and Joe Garland and wife Alice, all of Jasper; two nephews, Bryant and Michael Garland; two nieces, Ann MacArthur and Karen Krusing; 17 great-nieces and newphews; and four great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Vernis “Copper” Garland, and one niece, Amanda Rees.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Birdseye Cemetery. Pastor Albert Madden will officiate. Memorial contributions can be made to the Dubois County Food Bank or to a favorite charity. Online condolences can be shared at www.becherkluesner.com.
