Sharon Roxanna Austin, 80, Velpen
Sharon Roxanna Austin, 80, of Velpen, died Monday, April 5, at her home. She was born in Pike County May 23, 1940, to Amil and Mary (Krammer) Lee. She married Jerry Roger Austin, Sr. He died March 19, 2010.
Sharon was an avid outdoorswoman. She loved mushroom and deer hunting, crocheting, and doing family genealogy, and loved being with and taking care of her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Roxanna Gerber and husband Kevin, Birdseye, and Mary Katherine Crooks and husband Doug, Spurgeon; two sisters, Roberta Bruce and husband Dick, Indianapolis, and Janice Burton, Haubstadt; one brother, Robert “Bob” Lee, Augusta; sister-in-law Margie Lee; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Jerry Roger Austin, Sr., two sons, Jerry Roger Austin, Jr., and Joseph Glenn Austin, one brother, Dewayne Lee, and one grandson, J.R. Austin.
