Donald R. Lichlyter, 77, Jasper
Donald R. Lichlyter, 77, of Jasper, died Tuesday, April 6, at his home. He was born in Jasper January 31, 1944, to Daniel and Geneva (Kraft) Lichlyter. He married Eura “Pete” Rummel March 10, 1962, in Holland.
Donald worked at Kimball for 47 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Jasper Moose Lodge 1175, Jasper Council 1584 Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 147, Indiana Sherriff’s Association, and the March of Dimes. He enjoyed bingo and spending time with his family, especially his great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Pete Lichlyter; one daughter, Kathy Kern and husband Kenny, Jasper; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Hall and husband Wallace, Jasper, and Sharon Lichlyter, Evansville.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Michelle Kern, one son, Donald Lichlyter, one grandson, Jordan Kern, one sister, Carolyn Lichlyter, and four brothers, John, Daniel, Robert, and Rich Lichlyter.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the March of Dimes. Online condolences can be shared at www.becherkluesner.com. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the church with burial following in St. Mary Cemetery in Ireland. Masks and social distancing recommended for the visitation and mass.
