Robert L. “Bob” Wineinger, 85, Hillham

Robert L. “Bob” Wineinger, 85, of Hillham, died Thursday, April 1, at Brookside Village in Jasper. He was born in Hillham December 5, 1935, to Claud A. and Esther F. (Kerns) Wineinger.

Bob was a 1954 graduate of French Lick High School, a graduate of Indiana Central College in Indianapolis, and earned his master’s of education degree through Indiana University. He taught for four years for schools in English and for 23 years in Shoals. He coached junior high and high school basketball for both schools. He was an avid fisherman and was active in the Bassmasters organization. He supported the Wounded Warriors’ fishing and hunting programs and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and with friends and family.

He is survived by one sister, Patty Hoffman, Jasper; one brother, Rev. Darrell Wineinger and wife Barbara, Jasper; two nephews, Steve and Stanley Wineinger; three nieces, Sandra Franklin, Kandy Monsewic,  and Kimberly Wineinger; great and great-great nieces and nephews; and cousins.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Glen Wineinger, two brothers-in-law, James  W. Anderson and Leroy Hoffman, and one great nephew, Jason Franklin.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions can be made to Springs Valley Nazarene Church, Jasper Nazarene Church, Emmons Ridge Cemetery, or to a favorite charity. Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial following in Emmons Ridge Cemetery. Pastor Darrell Wineinger will officiate.
