Lawrence A. Brosmer, 92, Schnellville
Lawrence A. Brosmer, 92, of Schnellville, died Wednesday, February 10, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. He was born in Schnellville July 24, 1928, to Joseph A. and Matilda K. (Gunselman) Brosmer. He married Pauline Mehringer October 6, 1951, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. She died December 29, 2019.
Lawrence was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 493 in St. Anthony. He was a farmer in the Schnellville area and retired from Aristokraft Cabinets in Jasper. He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Schnellville Community Club, and the Schnellville Conservation Club. He enjoyed going to auctions and antique tractor shows, spending time on the farm, and reserved Sunday for attending church and spending time with his family.
He is survived by five daughters, Mary Fromme and husband Joseph, Jasper, Susan Merkley and husband George, St. Anthony, and Karen Fuhrman and husband Glenn, Rose Loepker and husband Donald, and Janice Thayer and husband Douglas, all of Schnellville; four sons, Paul Brosmer and wife Julia, Eugene Brosmer and fiancé Linda Fendel, Larry Brosmer, and John Brosmer and wife Diane, all of Schnellville; 17 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Joseph Fromme Jr., Robert Kern, and Nathan Brosmer, four sisters, Dorothy Messmer, Anna Mae Brosmer, Veronica Hochgesang, and Catherine Hartings; and five brothers, Isidore, Cletus, Edward, Philip, and Joseph Brosmer.
iends may call from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church. Memorial contributions can be made to Divine Mercy Parish, the Sacred Heart cemetery fund, or to a favorite charity. American Legion Post 493 will conduct military graveside rites. A mask and social distancing will be required for the visitation and mass.
