Edna J. Tobin, 100, Sevierville, Tennessee

Edna J. Tobin, 100, of Sevierville, Tennessee, died January 6 at Mountainbrook Assisted Living in Sevierville two days after celebrating her 100th birthday. She was born in St. Henry January 4, 1921, to Paul J. and Scholastica (Luebbehusen) Schwinghamer. She married William E. Tobin at the Fort Knox Military Chapel. He died June 1, 1986.

Edna was a member of Christ the King Parish and the St. Henry Christian Mothers. She enjoyed playing bingo and cornhole.

She is survived by four daughters, Shirley Mehling, Mary Kissinger and husband Stephen, and Patti Huber and husband Donald, all of Evansville, and Martha Tenbarge and husband Eugene, Bonita Springs, Florida; one son, Paul Tobin and wife Mary Ann, St. Henry; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Jean Schwinghamer, Evansville, and Jean Schwinghamer, Huntingburg.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by six brothers, Urban, Othmar, Victor “Jiggs”, Jerome “Jerry”, Maurice, and Harry Schwinghamer, one sister, Lucille Range, son-in-law Lee Mehling, and one grandddaugher.

Burial of cremains will be private in St. Ferdinand Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Shriner’s Children Hospital. Online condolences can be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com.
