Huntingburg man charged with Possession of a Destructive Device

Update

At approximately 8:00 PM on January 6, 2021, Detectives with the Huntingburg Police Department were canvasing the area of Market Street when they received an anonymous tip of a subject fitting the description of the social media post that the Huntingburg Police Department posted earlier in the evening.

Officers located the subject’s residence and made contact with the subject in question, identified as Jordan Brown. Through the investigation Officers were able to obtain a search warrant for Brown’s residence. After conducting the search of Brown’s residence, Brown was transported to the Huntingburg Police Department for further investigation. Through the investigation it was learned that Brown was responsible for detonating a homemade explosive device on December 20, 2020.

Brown was taken to the Dubois County Security Center where he was booked in and charged and preliminary charged with Possession of a Destructive Device (Level 5 Felony).

The Huntingburg Police Department is still investigating the suspicious package that was in the 300 block of East Fourth Street on January 6, 2021. If you have information in regard to the investigation, please contact Det. Sgt. Stivers
