Thomas H. Carie, 60, Haysville
Thomas H. Carie, 60, of Haysville, died Saturday, November 14, at University of Kentucky Healthcare in Lexington. He was born in Jasper August 3, 1960, to William and Diane (Heath) Carie. He married Deborah VanWinkle November 17, 2006.
Tom was a graduate of Northeast Dubois High School. He was a lineman for Electricom and a member of the Dubois Community Club. He enjoyed watching his daughter play softball and practicing with her, and spending time with his grandchildren. He liked target shooting, woodworking, and making crosses out of wood and rocks.
He is survived by his wife, Deb Carie; one daughter, Hailey Carie, Haysville; two step-daughters, Amber Foerster and husband Keith, Bristow, and Brandi Sorrells, and husband John, Dubois; six grandchildren, six sisters, Jacque Hasty and husband Glenn and Kara Engelhardt and husband Jack, all of Rockport, Cheryl Hartings and husband Andy and Jana Gunselman and husback Rick, all of Jasper; Donna Rasche and husband Tim, Dubois, and Jill Hoffman and husband Marty, Huntingburg; four brothers, Terry Carie and wife Diane, Dubois, Michael Carie, Loogootee, James Carie and wife Donna, Huntingburg, and Jeff Carie and wife Molly, Indianapolis.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Timothy Carie and Joseph Wininger.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Masks and social distancing will be required. Memorial contributions can be made to the wishes of the family.
