Deborah A. Mendel, 80, Jasper
Deborah A. Mendel, 80, of Jasper, died Monday, November 2, at the Villas of Guerin Woods in Georgetown. She was born in Jasper May, 9 1940, to Bernard and Valdena (Love) Kunz. She married Richard Mendel October 26, 1961, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper.
Deborah was a 1958 graduate of Jasper High School. She worked at Dubois County Bank in Jasper and was an office clerk for Holiday Foods for several years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper and enjoyed playing bingo, cards, puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard Mendel, Corydon; one daughter; Cheri Corley and husband Randy, Floyd Knobs; three sons, Brian Mendel and wife Denise, Frisco, Colorado, Scott Mendel and wife Joni, La Jolla, California, and Roger Mendel and wife Jennifer, Medina, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three sisters; Mary Jo Dippel, Sharon Loughmiller, and Karen Smith; and three brothers; Bernard Kent, Ronald, and Gerald Kunz.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Vivian Seng.
