Thomas J. Flick, 78, Jasper

Thomas J. Flick, 78, of Jasper, died Tuesday, October 27, at Brookside Village in Jasper. He was born in Jasper January 19, 1942, to Lamar “Chick” and Ardella (Eckert) Flick. He married Ruth Merder June 23, 1962, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

Tom was a 1960 graduate of Jasper High School and served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was owner of the Mill House Restaurant in Jasper for over 30 years and a member of St. Joseph Church, the Holy Name Society, American Legion Post 147, and Jasper Moose Lodge 1174. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Flick; one daughter, Kim Messmer and husband Mark, Jasper; two sons, Tim Flick and wife Stephanie, Jasper, and Todd Flick and wife Sherry, Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren, three great- grandchildren; and one brother, Richard “Dick” Flick and wife Judy, Evansville..

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Patty Taber, and an infant brother, Kenny Flick

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences can be shared at www.becherkluesnercom. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery. American Legion Post 147 will conduct military graveside rites.
