Nancy L. Foxen, 66, Jasper

Nancy L. Foxen, 66, of Jasper, died Wednesday, October 21, at her home. She was born in Jasper August 17, 1954, to Norbert and JoAnn (Walker) Jones. She married Duane J. Foxen June 12, 1976, at St. Francis Basilica in Dyersville, Iowa. He died February 9, 2012.

Nancy was a 1973 graduate of Jasper High School. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and a catechist in the St. Joseph Religious Education program for 10 years. She was a nurse’s aide in Iowa and worked at the Boys and Girls Group Homes. She was a leader for both Girl and Boy Scouts locally and assisted with various activities for both clubs throughout the area. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Michele Schoenbachler and husband Jim, Jasper, and Mary Shepherd and husband U.B., Clarksville; one son, Jeremy Foxen and wife Maeghan, Jasper; eight grandchildren, Rileigh Foxen, Josh, Mason, and Simon Schoenbachler, Armond, Alex, and Zoey Shepherd, and Kylen Jones; four sisters, Kathy Huffman and husband Jim, Kokomo, Janice Bieker and partner John Doty, Huntingburg, and Joyce Taber and Julie Corn and husband Scott, all of Jasper; and four brothers, Johnny Jones and wife Cindy, French Lick, and Joseph Jones and wife Darla, Andrew Jones and wife Nan, and Tommy Jones and wife Candelaria, all of Jasper.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jones, and one brother, Norbert Jones, Jr.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. St. Joseph Parish members will pray a rosary at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery. Masks and social distancing will be required
