Joe Kupper, 84, Jasper
Joe Kupper, 84, of Jasper, died Sunday, October 11, at the Timbers of Jasper. He was born in St. Meinrad February 9, 1936, to Herman and Margaret (Stratman) Kupper. He married Sue Heowener October 7, 2017, at Huntingburg Outreach Ministries.
Joe was a member of the U.S. Army National Guard. He retired from DMI, where he worked for 18 years. He was a member of Huntingburg Outreach Ministries and Huntingburg Christian Church and a past member of the Eagles of Huntingburg. He enjoyed fishing, rabbit hunting, crossword puzzles, word searches, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Kupper; five daughters, Becky Perez, Huntingburg, Linda Perry and husband Kevin, Oakland City, Tonya Wilson and husband Paul, Lenoir, Tennessee, LaDonna Turner and husband Lee, Princeton, and Amber Wilkens and husband Randy, Haubstadt; two sons, Mark Whitney, Petersburg, and Greg Kupper, Jasper; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two step-daughters, Sheila Burris and companion, Denver, Colorado, and Shaunna Aders and husband Chris, Jasper; one step-son, Stephen Heowener and wife Tresa, Jasper; several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; and a niece, Tiffany Brewer, Joe’s mentor while he was at Cathedral Health Care.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by eight siblings.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Huntingburg Outreach Ministries. Memorial contributions can be made to the wishes of the family. Online condolences can be shared at www.becherklueser.com. Funeral services at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Outreach Ministries with burial following at a later date in Duff Cemetery. Pastors Gene Marcum and Jason Rea and will officiate.
