Doris A. Reutepohler, 91, Huntingburg

Doris A. Reutepohler, 91, of Huntingburg, died Thursday, October 8, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Huntingburg July 3, 1929, to Leo and Alvina (Hachmeister) Miller.

Doris worked for the Uhl Pottery Company in Huntingburg painting ceramics and as an artist at Chase Studio colorizing portrait and wedding photographs and was a teacher’s aide at Maple Park and Chestview Elementary Schools. She was a member of the Huntingburg United Methodist Church and the Dubois County Art Guild. She loved planting flowers, feeding the song birds, and time spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by four sons, Steve Reutepohler and wife Marcy, Huron, Ohio, Curt Reutepohler and wife Sharon, Jasper, John Reutepohler and wife Lisa, Huntingburg, and Dan Reutepohler and wife Nancy, Holland; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Reutepohler, who died April 12, 2005, three brothers, Bob Miller and Russell and Junior Hesson, and three sisters, Melba Hartke, Leona Weaver, and Norena Werremeyer.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Memorial contributions can be made to Huntingburg UMC. Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home followed by burial in Fairmount Cemetery. Rev. David Chinn will officiate at the service.
