Frederick Emil Louis Hanebutt, 88, Huntingburg
Frederick Emil Louis Hanebutt, 88, of Huntingburg, died Monday, September 28, after suffering injuries in an ATV accident near his home. He was born in Huntingburg September 15, 1932, to Emil Otto and Hilda (Stieneker) Hanebutt. He married Kathleen Hazel Gray October 16, 1964, at Iva Union Church in Pike County.
Fred was a lifelong member of Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg where he served on the church council, was a former council president, and a member of the Men’s Fellowship and Discussion Sunday School Class. He was a distributor of Rawleigh Products for over 60 years, giving him the nickname “The Rawleigh Man,” a member of Farm Bureau, also for over 60 years, and worked for his son, Jeff, at Industrial Tool Sales and Service in Jasper since 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Hazel Hanebutt; two daughters, Becky Alano and husband Brian, St. Augustine, Florida, and Connie Myers and husband Kiply, Bloomington; one son, Jeff Hanebutt and wife Doris, Huntingburg; two sisters, Geneva Brang, Schnellville, and Ruth Buechler, Huntingburg; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Breitwieser and Margaret Hanebutt, and three brothers-in-law, Linus Breitwieser, Delmar Brang, and Harold Buechler.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg and from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Salem United Church of Christ. Memorial contributions can be made to Salem Church. Pastor Mark McDaniel will officiate at the service.
