Helen M. “Pee Wee” Giesler, 75, Ireland
Helen M. “Pee Wee” Giesler, 75, of Ireland, died Tuesday, September 29, at St. Vincent Medical Center in Evansville. She was born in Ireland October 27, 1944, to Karl and Hildegard “Hilda” (Hohler) Mehringer. She married Edward Giesler November 26, 1964, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland.
Helen was a 1962 graduate of Ireland High School. She worked at Dubois County Bank and then Old National Bank for a total of 47 years. She was a member of St. Mary Church where she was a member and past president of the St. Anne’s Society and a member of the finance committee and parish council. She was on the Ireland Sewer Board and enjoyed quilting, gardening, shopping, cooking, baking desserts, travelling, and collecting cookbooks and Hummel figurines.
She is survived by her husband, Ed Giesler; two daughters, Karla Wigand and husband Scott, Jasper, and Mindy Rankert and husband Scott, Plano, Texas; two sons, Blake Giesler and wife Barb, La Mirada, California, and Kyle Giesler and wife Janet, Ireland; 10 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; one sister, Franny Stamm and husband John, Jasper; and one brother, Gene Mehringer and wife Dianne, Ireland.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Rosemary “RoRo” Elmore, and one brother, Norbert Mehringer.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Church. Masks and social distancing are recommended.
