Dennis Dale Heaton, 80, Jasper
Dennis Dale Heaton, 80, of Jasper, died Monday, September 28, at his home. He was born in Toccoa, Georgia, October 25, 1939, to James and Elsie (Lindsey) Heaton. He married Sharon Hall October 14, 1959, in Gentryville.
Dennis was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the military police. He worked for Elmer Buchta Trucking in the house moving division and in paving construction for J.H. Rudolph. He was a member of Jasper Outdoor Recreation and enjoyed spending time with his family, pitching horseshoes, camping, singing, country music, and sports, especially Indianapolis Colts football, Indiana University basketball, and NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Heaton; two daughters, Yvonne Engelbrecht and husband Gerald and Vicki Henke and husband Cory, all of Jasper; four sons, Randy Heaton and wife Raina, Villa Rica, Georgia, Dean Heaton and wife Jennifer and Brian Heaton, all of Jasper, and Eric Heaton and wife Lea, Spurgeon; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Gabriel, and four brothers, Harold, James, Ray, and Billy Heaton.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
