Roman Ubelhor, 91, Bristow

Roman Ubelhor, 91, of Bristow, died Thursday, September 24, at his home. He was born in Evansville May 2, 1929, to August and Rose (Lasher) Ubelhor. He married Joyce Lehmkuhler December 29, 1949, at Holy Cross Church in St. Croix. She died August 20, 2011.

Roman was a carpenter and a farmer and a lifelong member of Holy Cross Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, birdwatching, and being with family and friends.

Roman is survived by four sons, Roch Ubelhor and wife Becky, Schnellville, Zach  Ubelhor and wife Brenda, Siberia, Doug Ubelhor and wife Julie, Bristow, and Matt Ubelhor and wife Lori, Bloomfield; five daughters, Karen Ubelhor and husband Gene, St. Meinrad, Doris Cox and husband Don, Birdseye, Clair Wendel and husband Tim, Shelburn, Sara Harpenau and husband Craig, Troy, and Laura Mossberger and husband James, Vancouver, Washington; five sisters, Marlene Oser, Siberia, Sheila Land, Florida, Sandra Shea, Oklahoma, Chantelle Ubelhor, Bristow, and Deanna Taylor, Evansville; 27 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and his dog, Clover.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one son, Clint Ubelhor.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. (CDT) Sunday and from 8-9:30 a.m. (CDT) Monday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Funeral services at 10 a.m. (CDT) Monday at Holy Cross Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
