Kenneth William Dudine, 91, Jasper

Kenneth William Dudine, 91, of Jasper, died Wednesday, September 23, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. He was born in Jasper March 28, 1929, to Theodore and Hildagarde Matilda (Lehnen) Dudine. He married Bettye Leinenbach November 28, 1953, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland. She died June 19, 2011.

Kenneth worked as an educator for his entire career. After graduating from Indiana State Teachers College in 1951 he earned his Master of Science degree in 1966 from Indiana State University. He taught in Mattoon, Illinois, and Ireland, Fremont, Martinsville, and Mooresville Indiana, retiring from Paul Hadley Junior High in Mooresvile in 1964. He was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper where he sang in the choir. While living in Ireland he was the choir director at St. Mary Church. He sang for weddings and sang the National Anthem at Ireland High School basketball games. He and Bettye moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 2007. After she died in 2011, he returned to Jasper.

He is survived by two sons, Ted Dudine and wife Corinne, Scottsdale, Arizona, and Kenneth “Chip” Dudine II and wife Gwen, McKinney, Texas; three grandchildren, Kelci Cabana and husband Thomas, and Collin and Carson Dudine; and two great-grandchildren, Grayson Race and Hunter Belle Cabana.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Meyer and Mary Ann Titzer, and two brothers, Charles and Robert Dudine.

Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church. Masks and social distancing will be required. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences can be shared at A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church with entombment following in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.
