Clara E. Kreilein, 95, Jasper
Clara E. Kreilein, 95, of Jasper, died Thursday, September 24, at the Timbers of Jasper. She was born in Rockport December 29, 1924, to Joseph and Thresie (Schulte) Hurm. She married Roman Kreilein September 2, 1950, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Rockport. He died July 10, 1996.
Clara was a 1943 graduate of Rockport High School. She was a homemaker and worked for United Cabinet and Danner’s 3-D and cooked for the priests and nuns at Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, the St. Anne’s Society, Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Holy Family Church, and the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed cooking and playing with her dog.
She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Kreilein, Jasper; one son, Fr. Ron Kreilein, Rockport, and her dog Josh.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four sisters, Anna Hurm, Sophie Wallace-Zarlenga , Frances Hurm, Marie Biever, and one brother, Bernard Hurm.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and from 9-10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church. The St. Anne’s Society will pray a rosary at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Church, St. Bernard’s in Rockport, St. Martin 1st Catholic Church in Chrisney, Heart-to-Heart Hospice, or to a favorite charity.
