Barbara Ann Lottes, 84, Loogootee

Barbara Ann Lottes, 84, of Loogootee, died Thursday, September 24, at her home. She was born in Haysville January 4, 1946, to Leo and Amanda (Kieffner) Meyer. She married Robert H. “Bob” Lottes September 27, 1956, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville.

Barbara Ann worked at Sakel’s Drive-in, Swift Packing Company, the Jasper Glove Factory, and Crane Navel Depot before becoming a housewife and homemaker and helping her husband on the farm. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville and its WELCA organization. She served on the church council and played the organ for both English and German services even though she did not speak German and she was a member of the VFW Post 673 Auxiliary. She enjoyed her computer, word find, mowing the grass with her snapper mower, sitting on her front porch, and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Lottes; two sons; Scott Lottes and wife Mary and Gregg Lottes and wife Melanie, all of Loogootee; four grandchildren; Nick, Joshua, and Colten Lottes and  Brooke Neukam; six great-grandchildren; Jennings, Gabe, and Eva Neukam, and Jake, Lilly, and Lakyn Lottes, and one on the way; and one brother; John Meyer and wife Sandy, Merritt Island, Florida   .

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Meyer, and one sister, Dorothy Seitz.

Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. Saturday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, and from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul’s Church. St. Paul’s WELCA will conduct a memorial service at 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul’s or to a favorite charity. Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church with burial following in the church cemetery.
