Karl G. Fluckey, 48, Washington
Karl G. Fluckey, 48, of Washington, died Saturday, September 5, at his home. He was born in Jasper June 15, 1972, to Thomas and Judith (Baker) Fluckey.
Due to a childhood illness, Karl was left with severe physical and mental handicaps, but through all of this he was still able to touch and inspire many people throughout his life. Those who knew Karl could feel his love for family and friends, and his greatest contribution will be how he taught those around him to love, live and appreciate life.
Karl loved coloring, his Etch-A-Sketch, and looking at and carrying around stacks of magazines.
He is survived by his mother, Judy Fluckey, Jasper; three sisters, Tammy Hayworth and husband Bertt, Loogootee, Shelley Truelove and husband Keith, Otwell, and Shari Morrison, Jasper; one brother, Tim Fluckey, Jasper; three nieces; seven nephews; one great niece; and one great nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Fluckey.
Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions can be made to the wishes of the family. Online condolences can be shared at www.becherkluesner.com. A service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with burial following at a later date. Rev. Daniel Land will officiate.
