Dorothy Marie Traylor, 94, Columbus
Dorothy Marie Traylor, 94, of Columbus, died Tuesday, September 15, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. She was born in Jasper December 8, 1925, to Edwin and Rose Stallman, the eldest daughter of five siblings. She married Robert C. Traylor May 8, 1948, in Jasper. He died in 2002, a few days shy of their 55th wedding anniversary.
Dorothy was a military wife and served her family and friends with love and devotion.
She is survived by two sons, Gregory A. Traylor, Columbus, and Richard V. Traylor and wife Tammy, Easton, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Connie L. Jackson, Columbus, and Sherry Traylor and husband Steve, Shelbyville; one brother, James Stallman and wife Ruth, Jasper; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Stallman and John Stallman, who died in infancy, and one sister, Benigna Stallman, who died in infancy..
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home in Columbus and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper followed by a prayer service at 1 p.m. Internment will follow in Traylor Union Church Cemetery in Otwell.
