Jacqueline “Jackie” Hachmeister, 84, Huntingburg

Jacqueline “Jackie” Hachmeister, 84, of Huntingburg, died Friday, September 4, at her home. She was born in Cannelton November 13, 1935, to Joshua and Goldie (Reed) Sims. She married James W. “Moon” Hachmeister November 2, 1957. He died December 18, 2005.

Jackie was a homemaker; enjoyed fishing and camping; and loved playing cards.

She is survived by three daughters, Vicki Hartke and husband Jeff and Merle Hachmeister, all of Huntingburg, and Kimberly Borges, Austin, Texas; one son, James Hachmeister, Jr. and partner Karen Rochowiak, Huntingburg; seven grandchildren, Amber, Taryn, Colin, Bryce, Brayden, Mariah, and Paul; five great-grandchildren, Braylon, Lane, Townes, Parker, and Seth; and two step great-grandchildren, Deacon and Emerson.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Merle and Warren Sims, and one sister, Inez Fishback.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. The family asks that all friends in attendance wear protective masks and follow established COVID-19 safety protocols.
