Dawn F. Mazur, 59, Huntingburg

Dawn F. Mazur, 59, of Huntingburg, died Wednesday, September 2, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Port Huron, Michigan, February 23, 1961. She married Michael Mazur August 27, 1994, in Ludington, Michigan.

Dawn graduated from Marion College in Marion, Indiana. She worked as a managing editor for a group of weekly newspapers in Michigan. She spent the last 28 years of her 37 year career in journalism as an editor at The Herald in Jasper, her last position as editor of the Herald’s People and Entertainment section. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, crafting, baking, remodeling her home, and playing euchre with friends. She loved her dogs through the years, Tramper, Snowball, Charlie, and Annie.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Mazur; one brother, Cory Arnold and wife Maya, Harvey, Louisiana; one aunt, Colleen Giannangeli and husband Peter, Grand Blanc, Michigan; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Mazur and Cindy Ohrling and husband Jeff, all of Ludington, Michigan; one brother-in-law, Richard (Bonnie) Mazur and wife Bonnie, Whitehall, Michigan; one niece, Farrah Engle, Twin Lake, Michigan; one nephew, Jason Mazur and wife Karen, Ludington, Michigan; three great nieces, Mollie and Aleena Mazur, both of Ludington, and Jacy Strong, Twin Lake, Michigan; and one great-nephew; Dayton Strong, Twin Lake.

Private services will be held at a later date.
