Local Football Teams really took it to the house at home and away!
After beating number one rated Memorial last week the Jasper Cats showed they are going to be the team to beat this year. The Wildcats started scoring and didn’t stop until the last blow of the whistle beating Evansville Harrison 50 – 7, there next game will be Evansville Reitz at the Reitz Bowl.
The Raiders made pretty easy work of the Boonville Pioneers putting 395 yards in total offense on the board. #22 Matt Springer runs for 36 yards and a Touchdown in the first quarter followed by a big 68 yard run from #3 Camdon Gasser for a Touchdown with a little more than 4 minutes left in the quarter. That 14 points went unanswered as the Raiders defense held Boonville to just 144 yards. All of the Raiders 395 yards were rushing and the Raiders scored again with Chase Taylor run in the second and Camdon Gasser with a touchdown run in the 3rd for a final score of 28 -0 over the Pioneers. #23 Jaylon Leon had a good night making every point after the touchdown. Southridge next game is a conference foe North Posey at home.
The Forest Park Rangers were on the road to Perry Central but that did not slow them down as they defeated Perry Central 42 -12, Forest Parks Jake Begle scored 5 of the 6 touchdowns along with 19 carries and 213 yards of the 414 total yards of offense. Trey Toby scored the other touchdown on the board with a 58 yard run in the 2nd quarter. Perry Central was not going to go down quietly as they scored in the 3rd #17 C Bland run of 8 yards but the point after was no good. Bland scored one more time early in the 4th but after going for two and missing Jake Begle ended all hopes with another long 63 yard run for a touchdown. Forest Park will face Tell City at home next week in a big conference game.
