Kenneth H. Gilmore, 90, Birdseye
Kenneth H Gilmore, 90, of Birdseye, died Thursday, August 27, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Eckerty November 18, 1929, to Earl and Louetta (Cook) Gilmore. He married Lola Frances Huff June 24, 1950, in Mentor.
Kenneth worked as an appliance technician. He was a member of Bethlehem Masonic Lodge #574 F&AM in Birdseye and the Birdseye Order of the Eastern Star #590. He was a deacon at Anderson Valley Christian Church and enjoyed cats and bird watching.
He is survived by his wife, Lola Frances Gilmore; two sons, Daniel Gilmore and wife Margaret, Evansville, and James Gilmore, Sumter, South Carolina; one daughter, Rhonda Hochgesang and husband Greg, Jasper; one brother, Lowell Gilmore, Florida; son-in-aw Greg Merder, Jasper; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneta Merder and John Gilmore, one brother, Earl Gilmore, Jr., and one grandchild
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. An Eastern Star vigil service will be held Tuesday at the funeral home Funeral services at 2:p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by burial in Cox Cemetery. Ministers Chuck Crews and Ron Hickman will officiate.
