Jane E. Striegel, 72, Birdseye

Jane E. Striegel, 72, of Birdseye, died Sunday, August 23, at her home. She was born in Huntingburg February 26, 1948, to Harold “Rudy” and Norma (Austin) Jackson. She married Roman L. Striegel May 13, 1989, in Huntingburg.

Jane was a hairdresser, a member of Birdseye Christian Church, enjoyed gardening, and served as treasurer for five years on the Birdseye Cemetery board.

She is survived by her husband, Roman L. Striegel; four daughters, Andrea Yount, San Diego, California, Rachelle Morrow and husband Chip, Long Island, New York, Stephanie Holloway and husband Brandon, Fishers, and Amber Striegel, Indianapolis; one son, Jason Walters and wife Joanne, of San Diego, California; one brother, Jerry Jackson and wife Glenda, Elizabethtown, Kentucky, one sister, LouAnn J. Harris, Huntingburg; and five grandchildren, Alex, Sylvia, Hannah Jane, Annabel, and Nicholas.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Jackson.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Memorial contributions can be made to the Birdseye Volunteer Fire Department.
