Shirley J. Fromme, 71, Jasper
Shirley J. Fromme, 71, of Jasper, died Friday, August 7, at her home. She was born in Jasper January 12, 1949, to Leroy and Mildred (Eckert) Wehr. She married Bernard Fromme November 13, 1971, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.
Shirley was a 1967 graduate of Jasper High School, was a teacher’s assistant for Greater Jasper Schools for several years, and worked for the Dubois County Courthouse. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and its St. Anne’s Society and the Dubois County Museum in Jasper. She enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, liked sports, and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts.
She is survived by her husband, Bernard Fromme; two daughters, Stacey Fromme, Jasper, and Melanie Lindauer and husband Craig, Ferdinand; one son, Jeremy Fromme and wife Bridget, Jasper; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Fromme and Madison and Nolan Lindauer; two sisters, Alice Roush and husband George and Christine Hollinden and husband Ed, all of Jasper; three brothers, Larry Wehr and wife Beverly, Birdseye, and Brent Wehr and wife Tina and Jim Wehr and wife Susan, all of Jasper; sister-in-law Martha Wehr, Jasper; and brother-in-law Tom Beckman, St. Anthony.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Diane Beckman, and one brother, Richard L. Wehr.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The St. Anne’s Society will pray a rosary at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
