Marilyn L. Beadles, 80, Velpen

Marilyn L. Beadles, 80, of Velpen, died Friday, July 24, at her home. She was born in Velpen January 10, 1940, to Walter and Estel (Smith) Houchin. She married Sammy A. Beadles August 31, 1962.

Marilyn was a homemaker and a proud coal miner’s wife. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, and bird watching – especially cardinals and hummingbirds – and  loved her butterflies.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Sammy A. Beadles; one son, Kevin Beadles and companion Tammy Cato, Velpen; one daughter, Tona Satterfield and husband Scott, Velpen; one granddaughter, Shanique Dillon and husband Tyer, Jasper; one great-grandson, Aiden Dillon, Jasper; one brother, Royce Houchin and wife Bobbie, Oakland City; and one sister, Sue Mann and husband Larry, Otwell.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Houchin.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Memorial contributions can be made to the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with burial following in Beadles Cemetery in White Oak. Brother Lowell Thomas will officiate.
