Mary W. Gehlhausen, 82, Jasper
Mary W. Gehlhausen, 82, of Jasper, died Friday, July 24, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Chrisney January 31, 1938, to Lawrence and Nora (Schaeffer) Brinksneader. She married Donald C. Biggs November 5, 1960. He died November 1, 2002. She married Ronald L .Gehlhausen July 2, 2005, at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper.
Mary was a 1956 graduate of Chrisney High School where she was a member of the Pep Club, Choir and Yearbook Committee. She was a member of Precious Blood Church, the Huntingburg Women’s Bowling League, and the Canasta women’s card club. She worked for General Electric in Tell City, Tanner’s Clothing Store in Huntingburg and retired from Kimball Electronics in Jasper, where she worked for 18 years, and from Siebert’s in Jasper, where she worked for 16 years. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, taking care of her flowers, and watching QVC, Hallmark, NFL football, golf, and NASCAR.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Ronald Gehlhausen; one son, Todd Biggs, Jasper; three grandchildren, Kyla Estey and husband Jon, Otwell, and Josh and Hayden Biggs, both of Jasper; one great-grandson, Jack Estey, Otwell; and one sister, Diane Schwenk and husband Ron, Ireland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Nora Brinksneder, and her first husband, Donald Biggs.
Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Precious Blood Parish members will lead a rosary at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
