Kenneth R. Seger, 78, Celestine
Kenneth R. Seger, 78, of Celestine, died Saturday, July 11, at his home. He was born in Celestine October 30, 1941, to Joseph C. and Adeline (Reckelhoff) Seger. He married Sharon Schaeffer April 18, 1964, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand.
Kenny was a member of the Indiana Army National Guard, St. Isidore Parish – St. Celestine Campus, and the Celestine Community Club. He was a third generation lifelong farmer in the Celestine area. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Sheephead, country music, especially Willie’s Roadhouse, going to country music shows, traveling out west, tractor pulls, and spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Seger; four daughters, Donna Seger, Wanda Burke and husband Rod, Karen Fischer and husband Kip, and Paula Brown and husband Josh, all of Celestine; three sons, Mark Seger and wife Kim, Joe Seger and wife Alyssa, and Gary Seger and wife Ashley, all of Celestine; 15 grandchildren, Char Durcholz, Brittany Friedman, Grant and Lydia Burke, Derek, Mariah, Taylor, and Tanner Fischer, Carter, Lauren, Jaxon, Leo, and Eleanor Seger, and Emma and Ethan Brown; one great-granddaughter, Evelyn Durcholz; and one sister, Doris Jacob and husband Kenny, Celestine.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Adeline Seger.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Isidore Parish or to a favorite charity.
