Herbsfest Canceled for this Year
Unfortunately this year’s Herbstfest has been canceled due to the current pandemic.
This year would have been the 40th anniversary of the Huntingburg festival, which was set for the last weekend in September.
Organizers felt this was the right call to make during these difficult times.
A big concern for the committee was for the nonprofit groups who would have booths at the event. Committee members talked to the organizations to get their perspective about operating at the festival.
Some events will continue separately and will be supported by the festival committee. Those include the Luv 4 Lexi 5K, golf scramble, horseshoe pitching tourney and co-ed volleyball tourney.
The committee is also working on having a drive-thru dinner fundraiser, details are still being formulated.
The plan is to have a big 40th anniversary celebration next year hoping to make the event even bigger than ever.
Since the Herbstfest is canceled, the community can help support local nonprofit groups that would’ve had a booth through donations. Some include Boy Scouts Troop 181, Friends of Raider Softball, Huntingburg Church of the Nazarene, Huntingburg United Methodist Church, Huntingburg Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, Kiwanis Club of Holland, Southridge Cheerleaders, Southridge Football Boosters, Southridge Soccer Boosters, Torre Fuerte Christian Church, Victory Assembly of God, Young Life and YMI.
