Disturbing Report Finds 30% of Hoosier Parents Refuse to Let Their Children Go to School if Masks are Required
A new school survey of Hoosier parents found nearly 30% percent refuse to send their kids to school if masks are required. Even though the pandemic in Indiana has slowed for now, State guidelines still Highly recommend social distancing and the use of masks to help reducing the resurgence of COVID.
State Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box pointed to that survey on Wednesday saying she finds that incredibly discouraging.
“We don’t have the medications yet. We don’t have the vaccine yet. What we have are those non-therapeutic interventions: wearing of your mask, social distancing, cleaning your hands,” Box says.Schools in Dubois County continue to work together to form a reopening plan for local schools, but, so far, no final decisions have been announced.
