Teddy Leon Foster, 71, Jasper
Teddy Leon Foster, 71, of Jasper, died Tuesday, June 9, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Evansville. He was born in Pike County April 10, 1949, to Noble and Mary Helen (Traylor) Foster. He married Linda Kluemper March 10, 1973, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. She died June 23, 2015.
Teddy was a U.S. Army veteran, drove a tank during the Vietnam War, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He retired from JOFCO (JSI) where he worked for over 40 years. He was a member of VFW Post 673, Jasper Moose Lodge 175, and American Legion Post 147. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and tinkering with projects around the house.
He is survived by one daughter, Shelly Foster, Jasper; two sons, Derek Foster and Jamie Foster and wife Elisha, all of Jasper; five grandchildren, Haleigh, Jordan, Ashton, Adilynn, and Ryker Foster; and one brother, Charles Douglas Foster and wife Diana.
In addition to his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Thomas Foster, and two sisters, Shirley Morton and Ethel Kelley.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper with burial following in Fairview Cemetery. VFW Post 673 will conduct military graveside rites.
