Leo R. Mullis, 91, Ferdinand
Leo R. Mullis, 91, of Ferdinand, died Monday, June 1, at Willowdale Village in Dale. He was born in Fulda February 3, 1929, to Emil and Cecelia (Jacob) Mullis. He married Rose M. Petry July 28, 1956, at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Leo was a retired dairy farmer. He was a 65 year member of St. Meinrad Legion Post 366 and was a Korean Conflict veteran. He was a member of the Fulda Sportsman Club and the American Dairyman Association and enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre, traveling, bird watching, tractors, farming, and getting together with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rose M. Mullis; six sons, Gary, Stanley, and Richard Mullis, and Dean Mullis and wife Mary, all of Bristow, and Leon and Allan Mullis, both of Ferdinand; three daughters, Diana Cox and husband Richard and Charlene Rickenbaugh and husband Jay, all of Ferdinand, and Rebecca Miller and husband Junie, Santa Claus; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Esther Klueh and Mary Ann Troesch; three brothers, Joe Mullis and wife Mary Alice, St. Meinrad, Oscar Mullis and wife Marilyn, Bristow, and Leroy Mullis and wife Elaine, Earlville Iowa; and sisters-in-law Ruth Mullis, Ferdinand, Rose Mullis, Fulda, and Betty Mullis.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Beth Ann VanWinkle, four brothers, Sylvester, Edgar, Othmar, and John Mullis, and two brothers-in-law, Clarence Troesch and Bob Klueh.
