Ralph C. Voegerl, 84, St. Anthony
Ralph C. Voegerl, 84, of St. Anthony, died Friday, May 29, at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand. He was born in St. Anthony September 20, 1935, to Joseph and Catherine (Wallhauser) Voegerl. He married Marlene Kluemper January 12, 1963, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony. She died January 20, 2014.
Ralph was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1955 to 1963. He retired from the Kimball Laminates plant after many years of service. He was a member of St. Anthony American Legion Post 493, Ferdinand American Legion Post 124, Huntingburg VFW Post 2366, Divine Mercy Parish – St. Anthony Catholic Church, Huntingburg Fraternal Order of Eagles, St. Anthony Community Center, and the St. Anthony Conservation Club. He enjoyed gardening, riding his 4-wheeler, playing cards, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, going to Arnie’s Tavern for lunch, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by one daughter, Denise Schnell and husband Rick, St. Anthony; one son, Steve Voegerl, Ferdinand; five grandchildren, Tara Leisman, Brooke Mohr, Matt Schnell, and Josh and Braydon Voegerl; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by six brothers; Herbert, Orville, Leo, Otto, Raymond, and Clarence Voegerl.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony Church with burial following in the church cemetery. St. Anthony American Legion will perform military graveside rites.
