Dubois County Health Department Holds Press Briefing on COVID

Dubois County (NNDC):

At an afternoon news briefing Thursday, Dubois County Health Officials contend they are prepared to follow the Governor’s directions to open up business in a slow, safe, and steady manner. Citizens are still urgently asked to please follow the existing warnings regarding Masks, hand washing, social distancing and respect to your fellow citizens.

Concerning Gov. Holcomb’s five-stage plan to reopen our state and our county, county health officer, Dr. Ted Waflart said during the news conference Thursday, that he can not stress enough that everyone must continue to be responsible and do their part to ensure the success of this effort.

Stage 3 of the governor’s Back-on Track plan begins Friday Morning but as we understand, there has been a spike in Dubois County in the number of COVID positive cases. This is due in a large part of more aggressive testing. Thankfully there have only been 2 recorded deaths, and although that is 2 too many, Dubois county has been in the forefront in keeping the infections in check.
