Bette Merleen Buening, 78, Huntingburg

Bette Merleen Buening, 78, of Huntingburg, died Saturday, May 16, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Huntingburg October 9, 1941, to Volley and Dorothy (Sollman) Feltner.

Merleen worked at Touch of Class in the Huntingburg retail store and enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Mason “Danny,” Kenny, and Greg  Bryant, all of Huntingburg; one daughter, Kim Bryant, Point Pleasant, West Virginia; two sisters, Lena Hughes, French Lick, and Elaine Hemmer, Huntingburg; three brothers, Larry Feltner, St. Marks, and  Roy and Bob Forston, both of Corydon; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-parents, Roy and Hilda Forston, and one sister, Sharon Wilson.

Private funeral services will be held Wednesday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial following in Mayo Cemetery near Duff. Pastor Jan Miller will officiate at the service. Online condolences can be shared at www.nassandson.com.
