Shirley A. Wagner, 72, Indianapolis
Shirley A. Wagner, 72, of Indianapolis, died Thursday, May 7, at her home. She was born in St. Anthony October 24, 1947, to Urban and Anna Mae (Schmitt) Wagner.
Shirley worked in the jewelry industry for over 50 years. Her career began at Rochester Department Store in Jasper. She then worked for Newman’s Diamond Center for 25 years, Olinger Diamond Center for 10 years, and Reis Nichols in Indianapolis for 18½ years, retiring in 2018. She was an avid world traveler, loved working out with friends, going out to dinner, customer parties, and her clientele.
She is survived by her mother, Anna Mae Wagner, Jasper; four sisters, Marie Berry Dolletzki and husband Mike, Rosalie Hartwick, and Mary Birk and husband Terry, all of Jasper, and Ruth Wagner, Ferdinand; seven brothers, Gary Wagner and wife Marcia, Don Wagner and wife Joni, Paul Wagner, Chuck Wagner and wife Shari, and Amos Wagner, all of Jasper, and Bernard Wagner and wife Rita and Roman Wagner and wife Sheila, all of St. Anthony; 20 nieces and nephews; three step nieces and nephews; 40 great-nieces and nephews (and one on the way); 12 step great-nieces and nephews; and two step great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Urban Wagner.
