Ethan James Kento Lubbers, 13, St. Anthony

Ethan James Kento Lubbers, 13, of St. Anthony, died Tuesday, April 28, at his home. He was born in Jasper October 6, 2006, to Philip and Mayumi (Tanahara) Lubbers.

Ethan was a seventh grade student at Forest Park Junior/Senior High School. He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing outside with his cousins, playing video games, fishing, swimming, riding 4-wheelers, and playing with his cat Sophia.

He is survived by his parents, Philip and Mayumi Lubbers; one brother, Sean Lubbers, and one sister, Sasha Lubbers, both at home; his maternal grandmother, Yoshiko Tanahara, Okinawa, Japan; his paternal grandparents, Mark and Christine Lubbers, Schnellville; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Seishin Tanahara.

Private funeral services will be held at Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home in Jasper with burial following in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Schnellville. Memorial contributions can be made to Divine Mercy Parish or the Dubois County Humane Society. Online condolences can be shared at
